Message from the Chairman
Shoichi Miyawaki, President of the Kyushu Orthodontic Society
We would like to express our sincere gratitude to you all for your continued cooperation in running this society.
The 20th Anniversary Academic Conference will be held for two days, March 1st (Sat) and 2nd (Sun), 2025, at ACROS Fukuoka in Fukuoka City. At this anniversary conference, we are considering awarding an excellent presentation award and holding corporate presentations before the opening ceremony, and other exciting plans are planned. In addition, today's general meeting will be the first to be held on-site since the COVID-19 pandemic. We would like to express our gratitude to the conference chairperson, Dr. Miyazono, Secretary General Dr. Nakajima, and everyone in the Fukuoka Prefecture branch and other related parties for their preparations. Regarding the 21st Academic Conference, the conference chairperson, Dr. Ogura, and the teachers in the Oita Prefecture branch have begun preparations, and the steering committee is also discussing the matter, and it is scheduled to be discussed at the general meeting, so we look forward to your active comments and questions.
Next, as for the academic journal, which is as important academically as the academic conference, the 20th volume, No. 1 was published at the end of last year under the leadership of Director Kawamoto Tatsuo. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to everyone who has been involved in this work. In addition, the orthodontic specialist system is currently underway, and as a result, there is a demand to change the publication month of the academic journal from December to November. We would appreciate your understanding and cooperation in this matter.
Finally, I participated in the 2024 TAO APOC Taipei and social gathering held in Taipei on December 3-5, 2024 with Professor Ishikawa and Professor Suyama. This time, because it was held in conjunction with APOC, there were quite a lot of participants from Asia, and it was a very lively conference. There were several ideas to motivate young people, such as awarding them excellent presentation awards, which was helpful for the future. In addition, the chairman was replaced from Professor Chen-Feng Cheng to Professor Yu-Kun Chih. We plan to invite you to the Oita conference, so we look forward to your cooperation.
At today's general meeting, we will be deliberating and discussing various agenda items, including the management of the 20th and 21st Academic Conferences, as well as the next president, so we appreciate your cooperation.
